"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!" -Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Summer 2008

Well, summer for Adam and I, is officially over. The kids at our school started back this past Wednesday and it's kind of been bittersweet. Let's take a stroll down memory lane:

May 2008
We celebrated our 1st anniversary
Threw a party for my sis's birthday
Adam finished his second year teaching
Adam started his summer job

June 2008
I finished my first year of "official work"
I celebrated a birthday

July 2008
Threw a party for my mom's birthday
Cheerleading for the school started
Adam and I finished our summer jobs :)
Went to the beach with Adam's family

August 2008
We started our first "official" teacher workdays
We were blessed to whitness over 1000 spontanious baptisims at our church(within 2 weeks)
We were apart of 2 of our best friends most special day (their wedding day)!
School started

So...this summer is one to be written in the books as a great one! Adam and I are a little disappointed though that it's over, but we've got a lot to look forward to in the fall and winter (more posts to come)!

Happy Birthday Mom!

One week ago, tomorrow, marked my mom's 60th birthday. Let me tell you...it was great! She had a great day at work with people making her feel special and that night, Adam and I threw her a party with his parents, my sister and Ken. My mom thought Adam and I were just going to take her out to dinner that night, but when the doorbell started ringing with people...we told her we were going to grill out and have a party at our house with everyone! Now, if you know my mom, you know that she is always thinking about other people and never about herself. My mom is the most greatful, un-selfish person I know and I greatly admire her for that! Since my mom does so much for other people, I wanted to make her 60th birthday something very special for her. So, Adam grilled chicken and we just had a fun time being with each other. She kept telling me that this was the best birthday she has ever had and she was so happy to spend it with us. I love my mom so much and it was the least I could do to make her feel special on her special day! I'll leave you with a few picutres of that night and encouragement to go out of your way today to make someone feel special!

Elevation Uptown

Yes folks...Elevation is opening a third campus uptown at McGlohon Theatre on August 24! Adam and I can't wait until then because we know God has something BIG planned up his sleeve for this campus and we are so excited about it! We went there last night for "Meet me @ McGlohon" for kind of a kick off celebration and it was awesome! The place is amazing...stained glass windows, upper balcony...it had a cool old school feeling to it and it was packed out last night! Our prayer for the Uptown campus is that God would bring in so many people off the street to hear the truth and that on the first Sunday there would be 300 salvations! Please join us in praying for this campus that the Lord would do things only he could imagine and that all the glory would be for Him!

Sanuks

Today Adam and I had the privledge of going on an adventure together. We were actually going to see if a Home Goods store had this wall art we wanted to put over our fireplace. We didn't find anything, BUT we did go into Off Broadway afterwards and found, I believe, the best shoe made! Adam and I bought ourselves a pair of "Sanuks". I'm not quite sure how you pronounce the name, but they are the most comfertable shoes I have ever worn! Now, if you know Adam, you know that he has the most flat feet any person could ever have and finding him a good pair of shoes that he can stand to wear is an adventure in itself. But when he put these shoes on it's like his feet just melted. He could not stop telling me how good they felt (I'll give you and update in a couple of weeks).
So these shoes/sandals are made with a sandal bottom and a flexible "shoe" top. They say that the natural feel of the sandal bottom will actually help us walk in our natural way. Most shoe stores will look at your feet and give you this high tech shoe with different gels and arches and they end up hurting your feet a month down the road. I've always thought it was kind of funny when Adam would go get fitted for a pair of shoes and the sales people would give him a shoe with a high arch in it when Adam doesn't even have an arch. Come on people...you don't put 2 un-natural things together and expect it to be comfortable! So I really have high hopes for these shoes...I guess we'll see!
