Thanksgiving Eve

Yes, it's Thanksgiving eve...tomorrow, there will be lots of hugs, "how have you been's", eating, napping, football watching, and just hanging out with family. I probably won't get time to post tomorrow, so I'm doing my thanksgiving post tonight! I was reading our Pastor's blog and he challenged us to thank someone in our life who has greatly influenced us. He said that the first person who comes to your mind is probably the one who has influenced you the most. Well, the first person that comes to my mind is my mom...

Dear Mom,
I am so proud to be called your daughter. It has been such an honor to have you raise me and love me for the past 23 years. You have taught me so much and I thank the Lord he chose me to be your daughter. Thank you for all of the countless memories we've created over the years. Thank you for all your loving and intellegent advice...everything from what to do about boys, to how much makeup I should wear, to how to have a loving and growing relationship with the Lord. I could not imagine learning all that I have learned from you from another person. I truly believe the Lord picked me to be able to call you "mom" for so many reasons and I thank Him for that.

You are such a strong woman and I admire that about you. You have taught me to always stand up for myself, especially when I go through the drive-thru and they don't get my order right, or they forget something, you've always said I need to speak up for myself. Thank you for that. Thank you for showing me how to love unconditionally. I've seen you love unconditionally even when you have had every right not to and I admire that about you. Thank you for never giving up. You have shown me how to be a strong willed person and that definatley comes in handy when I'm having those bad, don't feel like going on, days. Thank you for showing me how to be gentle. Your gentle touch when I was sick or discouraged always seemed to make me feel better and I can't wait to show that to my children. Thank you for your sensitive and caring side. There's something so beautiful about being sensitive and I thank you for passing that down to me and for showing me how to have such a caring heart. Thank you for your servanthood and for all the sacrifices you have made throughout your life. You have shown me how to volunteer my time and my resourses to people who need them more than me. Thank you for your love for children. I truly believe children are our future and it's because of you and your love for each of them that one day we will live in a better place. Thank you for showing me what it means to be a Christ follower and to give everything I have to Him. You are a beautiful daughter of Christ and I know He is very pleased at the work you have done for Him here on this earth.

Mom, there are not enough words to explain to you how much I love you and thank you for everything you have done for me. Thank you for being a beautiful, powerful, determined, strong, amazing, passionate, loving, woman who loves Christ. Thank you for your love and sacrifices you have made to allow your children to have the best life they can. Thank you for being a provider for six kids and three grand babies. But most of all, thank you for being a mom who genuinely loves her children. I Love you with all my heart and only hope to one day be half the person you are!

With all my Love,
Elizabeth

Lazy Saturday

I love Saturdays! Today may have been the laziest day ever in the Hamilton household! We woke up after 10, picked up the house, went to the store and came home to watch Appalachian squash Western Carolina. Currently, we are still on our bums watching some tv and hanging out together. Today has been awesome and I wouldn't trade any second of it! There was really no point to this post other than telling you how much I love Saturdays and I guess how lazy we are! Oh well...I love it! Here's to great Saturday's with your husband!

Harleigh Christina Collins

Yay!! We have a new niece...welcome to the world Harleigh Christina! Harleigh was born on November 15, 2008 and weighed 6 lbs 9 oz. She is a beautiful, healthy little girl whom I already love with my whole heart. I am so proud of my sister and know that she is going to be a great mom!

Dear Harleigh,
On Saturday, November 15th, you came into this world at 2:21pm. You weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and were 19 inches long. You were a tiny little thing! You won't remember this, but everyone was crowded around your mommy's bed marveling at how beautiful you were! Your Grandmommy was there...papa Al and Suzanne were there...Uncle James and Brooke were there...I was there...and of course your mommy and daddy were there. Papa Al was joking that you were going to take after him and have his big head, but he was wrong, your head is absolutely perfect! We were all so excited that you were finally here...9 months is a long time to wait for such a sweet gift! Now, I do have to tell you some things about your mommy...1) always do what she says (you'll be in big trouble if you don't), 2) she's loves sugar daddy's (a good mother's day/birthday gift), 3) don't get on her bad side...she's fisty, 4) you never have to worry about her not loving you! Your mommy is a wonderful woman who will always be there for you whenever you need her. One day you will have boy problems, girl problems, friend problems, self problems, just problems, and your mommy will always be there for you to pick you up when you're down and motivate you and push you when you're stuck. If I know anything at all, its that your mommy and my sister has everything it takes to be an amazing mom and supporter! Trust me, you're in good hands! Now, let me also tell you that your Uncle Adam and I are going to love you just as much! We are so excited to call you our little niece and want you to come see us and be with us as much as you want! I want to welcome you into this world and I pray that you would grow up to be a Godly young woman who loves life and the people in it. I love you Harleigh Christina with all my heart and I am so glad the Lord gave you to my sister!
Love,
Aunt Elizabeth :)

A New Edition!

Well, the time has come! My sister called me this morning and told me they will be going to the hospital tonight at 11pm! She had a doctor's appt. this morning and the doc said the baby is a perfect weight and since Sara's due date is Sunday he was going to induce her on Monday. Sara is so ready to have this little baby so she asked if he could do it tomorrow and he told her that he could even do it tonight! You don't have to tell Sara that twice! She jumped on it and said "I'll be there!". She's thinking that she will hopefully be a new mom early tomorrow morning, but no one ever knows how quick or how slow things can happen!

Adam is going to the App game with his family tomorrow because it is Senior day and his brother, John Mark, is getting recognized! We're all excited about that and I'm sorry I can't be there so....shoutout to John Mark from your sis-in-law...I'm proud of you!

Depending on how things go, I'll probably head up to the hospital early tomorrow morning and hope to see my precious new niece! Please keep Sara, Ken and baby Harleigh in your prayers. Pray for a speedy delivery, a fast recovery for Sara, and pray that little Harleigh will enter this world as a healthy baby! Thank you all so much for your support and check back soon because I'm sure I'll have some pictures!

Oh, and one more thing, I need your opinions...what should I be called?
Aunt Elizabeth, Aunt Liz, Aunt Lizzy...I'm open to any suggestions!

Sick...

Ok, for all my readers out there...please pray that I get better! Last night it started with a sore throat and tonight it has lead into a yucky cold. I hate these because there's really nothing you can do for them except wait it out. And the timing couldn't be worse either...you see, my sister is due to have her baby any day now and I can't be sick when my new little niece comes! So, please, please, please pray that I would feel better tomorrow so that I can be there for my sister when she goes to the hospital. I'll be sure to keep you posted on my sister's baby as time goes along...until then, keep the kleenex's coming!

Cheerleading Sleepover

Last night I had my JV cheerleading squad (17 6th, 7th, and 8th graders) over for an end of the year sleepover at my house. Yes, you are probably thinking that I'm crazy, but we had a lot of fun! We ate pizza, talked (about boys), played games, watched a movie and other stuff. The girls went to bed at 5, but I turned in at 3:30. Needless to say, I am really tired...bedtime is in about 10 min!

I have loved coaching this year...I have never done it before and I had my doubts going into it because I didn't know what to expect. I was very blessed to have been given the girls that I got. All 17 of them have great attributes and characteristics of Godly teenagers and it was so much fun to hang out with them and help them with anything I could! Coaching does has its downfalls, but the rewards and the blessings FAR out weigh all of the negatives! If I was asked to do it again next year, there's no way I could say no. Here's to a great season and great girls!
