So I dropped Adam off at the church Monday morning at 5 am to go on the 8th grade field trip to Washington, DC. He's only gone till Thursday, but that is too long for me! This is really our first time apart for this long and I didn't know how hard this was going to be. I guess this really shows you how much you really love someone when they're gone (man, I sure do love Adam a ton)! And I'm a little scardy cat...this is my first time staying in our apartment alone, and I don't want to get used to it! Anyway, I am glad Adam got this opportunity because he is really enjoying it. But, Thursday could not get here fast enough.
Before Adam left, we carved our first pumpkin together, Al. I'll have to admit he looks pretty pitiful, but it was tons of fun carving it! Hopefully we'll get better and better each year. Well, keep me in your prayers tonight and tomorrow night cause it will be me, myself, and I!

Go Big or Go Home
Yes, tonight at 7:30, I will be getting all my hair chopped off! (Hence the title..."go big or go home"). I've had enough of just going to get trims and then wishing I had gotten it shorter after I left; so tonight is the night I go all out! I am still trying to raise my confidence level a little, but there's no turning back! I've had long hair most of my life, so going short is a big step for me. I guess we'll see how it goes! Wish me luck!

Put Everything on the Table!
So, this past Sunday's message from Pastor Furtick was absolutely amazing! I don't have time to get into the details now (you can go to elevationchurch.org to listen to it), but it was great! He basically talked about how God is such a merciful God and we should be grateful for that. He also said that giving back to Him is an offering of worship, which is very true. Basically, everything you have and everything you are belongs to God. He is the owner and you are the manager. Pastor Steven gave this example of putting everything you have on the table and offering it up to God as His. So, when Adam and I got home from church, I felt very convicted to put everything we had on the table and surrendering everything to Him. Now, I am a visual person, so what did I do? I started putting everything we had on our dinning room table! No, I didn't put the tv on it or furniture; for the big stuff I just got the paperwork out for them and put the paper on the table. But all the little stuff went on the table (money, clothes, possessions, etc.) Adam thought I was nuts while he was watching me do this, but when I was done, Adam and I sat at the table and Adam prayed offering everything up to the Lord (ourselves included). You might think I'm a little crazy for doing this, but now I have a true sense that everything we have belongs to Him...

A Great Night
Tonight has definitely taken the cake for the best night of the week! Adam and I were able to spend some quality time together, just the 2 of us. It was so good for us to finally get some 1 on 1 time together without involving the phrases, "What's for dinner?", "I'm ready for the weekend!", or "we need to clean this house". First, we went to Old Navy to look around, then we headed over to The Q Shaq which is a BBQ restaurant and ate dinner, then we went to blockbuster and rented a movie. It was definitely a great night to share each other's company.
Our small group leaders keep a blog and one of their entries was about their date nights and how we should also have date nights with our Lord. I read it and it is so true! You almost always have that everyday conversation with the Lord, but you should have regular date nights with Him to learn more about Him and to ultimately further your relationship with Him. I can honestly say that I am guilty of not having those "date nights" with the Lord and when I don't, it is totally apparent in my life! Praise the Lord that our Father is a God of many chances and one who shows His mercy on us. Thank you Lord.

Crazy Times
So, the past couple of days have been crazy for me. It all just seems like everything in my life is kind of jumbled up right now (except for Adam and my family). I have been going through a hard time at work and it kind of seems like I've been pushed to the back burner there. I'm a little bit frustrated in a way and angry and just want to quit! But I can't do that, so I really don't know what to do...I guess just grin and bear it. Anyway, on a happier note, Adam has definitely been there for me when I just want to talk about things or when I just want to cry. I am so thankful that the Lord put him in my life. He's my man! I just want to ask that the 5 or 6 people who read this pray for me...that God would show me clarity in my life and that I would learn to put all my faith in Him no matter what I go through. Today's a new day!

A Great Weekend
There's nothing like going to work on a Monday after a great weekend! Adam and I had the privilege of going to the beach with his family for the weekend. The 2 days we were down there couldn't have been better! The weather was absolutely perfect! Adam and I really needed this "mini vacation". There's not too much time where we can just sit around and be lazy with each other. We really took advantage of each other's company and it really made us closer as a couple! So, it's Monday and it's time to go back to work...blah. We really hate we missed church yesterday; we heard it was something you wouldn't want to miss. I think we're going to watch it online tonight though. Ok, well it's off to work for me.

Tomorrow's Friday!
Yay! Tomorrow's Friday! This week has gone by fast for me and I am loving that! I have spent half of the week packing up my teacher and getting her ready to go to her new school. It has been a relaxing half of the week because our class was dissolved into other Kindergarten classes, so the past couple of days it has been really peaceful with just me, my teacher, and the TV! We had a going away party for her today and it was bittersweet. I want to wish her the best of luck at her new job and hope everything goes well for her!
So, tomorrow's Friday! Adam and I are lucky enough to have the privilege of heading down to the beach for the weekend. Even though its going to be a short trip, we'll take anything just to have a little relaxation! It's suppose to be beautiful down there so we are really excited! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :)

Emotional Day
Today was the last day I got to see my kids (at school). See, the teacher that I work with is moving to a different school and because of this our class is being dissolved into other Kindergarten classrooms. It was a very bittersweet day though...we had some moms come in crying, some came in with flowers for us, and kids came in with homemade cards telling us that they would miss us as their teachers. They were so cute! The kids were so excited that they were going to be apart of a new class and that they would meet so many more new friends, but it was sad to see them go. I'll still be around the school to see their cute faces though. So, half the day we dealt with that and the other half was spent taking everything down in my teacher's room and packing everything up. We've still got a lot to go, but it will get done. I am very happy for her and wish her the best!
On the other hand, we had our small group tonight and let me tell you...the Lord has truly blessed us with an amazing group of people! You can definitely tell that He delicately handpicked each one of us to be in this group. This week we talked about how BIG God is and how he uses desperate people to display His power and glory. I have definitely been desperate during times in my life and the Lord has truly shown through me during those times and overflowed me with His Glory. 2 Kings 7:3-8

Cooking is not my thing...
So, tonight I was going to be a good wife and actually cook my husband dinner (instead of him fixing his own tacos and me eating cereal or something). I had really good intentions to fix Adam and I grilled cheese sandwiches and twice baked potatoes. I love fixing the grilled cheese sandwiches because we have this sandwich maker that fixes them in 5 minutes. However, the twice baked potatoes were a different story. I had never fixed them before and I was just going off the memories I had of my best friend Sarah fixing them like 2 weeks ago (aka I didn't have a recipe). So, I cooked the potatoes and scooped the middle of them out and then put a whole stick of butter in with the potatoes I scooped out (we only had 3 very small potatoes) so needless to say, a whole stick of butter for the amount of potatoes I had was WAY too much! It was like a bowl of butter instead of potatoes. I felt really bad and being the emotional basket case that I am I stood in the kitchen crying. Adam immediately came to console me and told me that it was ok and that he would rather have chips with his grilled cheese instead (trying to make me feel better). I am determined that someday I will be an amazing cook and will want to cook dinner every night for my family (well, maybe not every night)! Tomorrow we have our small group and we usually grab dinner before that somewhere...thank the Lord!

Being sick is the worst!
Well, it's really late and Adam and I just got home from the Appalachian game (they won 45-7). I should be sleeping right now, but this ridiculous cold is keeping me awake. It didn't get worse until last night and night times are the most horrible times for colds. So needless to say, I am up miserable. I just took some meds though so hopefully I will be asleep soon! At least tomorrow is Sunday, one of my favorite days of the week! Until then, pray that my cold goes away!

Enjoy Life!
Yay!! The weekend is finally here! It sounds kind of bad that I wish away the days just to get to the weekend...our pastor talked one Sunday about enjoying where you are at in life "right now"! It really hit home because I had not been doing that and I felt really convicted. For example, the whole time I was engaged, I was wishing that I was married already! I barely had time to enjoy being engaged and really taking advantage of all the benefits/qualities of being a fiance (not a wife...yet). I don't really regret it now, but I was engaged for a year and a half and I thought that the day would never get here, and now as I look back, that year and a half went by so fast! I don't know, just a thought to think about. A little advise I once heard...don't waste away your days, make the best of your moments!
So tomorrow's Saturday and Adam and I are headed up to the Appalachian game with some of his family and our friends. I actually just got done baking some cookies to take up there to munch on! I'm nodding off while I write this, so it's definitely time to call it a day!

Tomorrow's Friday!!
So, I think I'm coming down with a cold or something...I don't know what it is. All I know is that my throat has hurt all day, I slept when I got home, and now my body is just aching! I don't know, I guess we'll see tomorrow! Thank goodness today felt like it went faster than yesterday, however, my kids today were crazy! I have never seen them so talkative! I guess they're just being 5 year olds! I just looked at the clock and it's only 8:30...I thought it was so much later...this might call for an early bedtime tonight! All I know is that tomorrow is Friday and I get to hang out with my husband! :) The Lord is good!

This may sound bad...but the day is finally over!!
Ahhh (sigh of relief)! Today has felt like the longest day ever! We went on a field trip today (by the way, I'm a teacher assistant for Kindergarten) to the nature museum and then went on a picnic afterwards in a local park. Man...those 5 year olds wear you out! "Can I go to the bathroom", "What's that?", "I'm scarred of bugs", "When's lunch?", "Are we there yet?", and the list goes on! I really didn't realize how tired I was until the ride home on the bus where I found myself "nodding" (very embarrassing by the way). So, needless to say, I was exhausted by the time I got home!
My mom works at her church in Food Service and every Wednesday they have "Wednesday Night Dinner" before classes or the service. I don't really get to see my mom a whole lot so Adam and I try to get over there Wednesdays to eat dinner with her. Even though I could barely keep my eyes open, I always love hanging out with my family to just laugh and catch up. My sister was also there which made it even better. So after having stuffed my belly to its limit, I was ready to go home and call it a day and maybe even get to bed early...but the day doesn't end there. :(
I also cheer for the Bobcats (NBA) and since opening night is approaching, we have started practices every week. So if I couldn't have packed anything else into my day, I had to go to practice tonight. Now, don't get me wrong, our practices are very fun and since I love what I do, it makes it even better! So after about 2 hours of stunting/playing around I was very excited to get home to my husband to spend some last minute quality time with him! (That was the best part of my whole day)!
All I can say is that at least tomorrow is Thursday which only makes it 2 more days until complete relaxation! Praise the Lord!

All I can say is that at least tomorrow is Thursday which only makes it 2 more days until complete relaxation! Praise the Lord!

A Great Day!
So, today was like any other day in my week. We wake up, I fix lunches, we go to work, etc. However, Tuesdays are becoming one of my favorite day of the week because we have bible study Tuesday nights. The Lord has truly blessed Adam (my husband) and I with an amazing group of people to keep us accountable in our Christian walk. So before bible study I had the amazing privilege to go wedding dress shopping with one of my best girlfriends. We only had time to go to one place, but she found the most beautiful dress! Afterwards, we headed to dinner and then to the bible study. Our Pastor at our church (Elevation) is going through a series now called "Sun Stand Still". So far, it has been an amazing series showing us the power of the Lord and the boldness we should have when we pray. He is teaching in Joshua 10:7-14. If you haven't read it, get your bible out and read it! If you don't have a bible, go to biblegateway.com and look it up! It will truly bless your life as it did Adam's and I. It has really challenged us to pray bold and BIG prayers in which the Lord could only be blamed for the outcome of them! Adam and I are really excited about this series (couldn't you tell?) because it has already strengthened our walk with the Lord, so look for more to come! Until then, chao!

I've finally started one!
Well...my first blog! I never thought I'd be among the millions who do this, but I guess I am now! My obsession with blogging all started when my husband and I started attending Elevation Church (haven't yet figured out how to make that a link...but it's elevationchurch.org) and we started reading Pastor Steven's and his wife's blog. Needless to say, I was hooked! My husband and I have an exciting yet interesting life, so I thought creating a blog would be perfect for us. Although I will probably be the main one writing, I'm sure my husband will have his little inquiries he will want to add! So...I guess we'll see how this goes!
